 The North American Numbering Plan Administrator has notified the Nebraska Public Service Commission that the numbers available in the 402 Area Code are nearly depleted and a relief plan must be implemented. Area Code relief plans are developed and implemented by the telecommunications carriers who operate in the affected area code. The carriers establish sub-committees that focus on the areas of Technical Implementation and Customer Education. Each sub-committee identifies specific tasks, time-lines, and the necessary documentation to implement the approved relief plan.
