Transportation

The Transportation Department regulates intrastate transportation for hire by motor carriers of passengers and household goods on the public highways of the State of Nebraska. The Department also conducts safety inspections as part of the Federal Railroad Administration’s State Railroad Safety Participation Program.

Dillon Keiffer-Johnson has been with the Commission since 2018. Prior to his role as Director, he was a member of the Commission's Legal Department. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from West Virginia University. Licensed to practice law in Nebraska he is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association.

Passenger Carriers

The Department regulates the rates, services, and safety of all intrastate for-hire motor carriers transporting passengers in the state. Carrier types include taxicabs, open class, special party and charter, and limousines. Learn more...

Transportation Network Companies provide prearranged transportation services using an online-enabled application or platform to connect passengers with participating drivers using a personal vehicle. Learn more...

Railroad Employee Transportation

Those passenger carriers that exclusively transport employees of railroad carriers operating in interstate commerce may provide Nebraska intrastate passenger transportation services after being granted a license by the Nebraska Public Service Commission. Learn More Here
